Foreign Rights Sale (Russia)

June 23, 2006

Back in February of this year, Russian publisher AST made an offer to license Russian language publishing rights for The Crimson Sword. An agreement was executed in early May. This marks the first foreign language rights sale of Eldon's work. Not all first-time authors receive such proposals. It sometimes takes multiple years and book titles for an English language author to gain the attention of foreign publishers, and for those publishers to assume the financial risk of introducing a new, overseas author in their own country. Eldon is pleased by this opportunity, particularly given the fact that AST publishes some of the best-selling titles in all of fantasy, including works by mega-authors Robert Jordan, George R. R. Martin, Terry Goodkind, and many more.

Translation and production of the book is sure to take some time, and we have no word yet of a target release date, but we will be sure to post news of any further developments as they occur.
